Car Battery Dead

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My battery is dead and when I turn the car over the car does not start and you can hear the battery dead.

Is it worth trying to jump start the car or should I just get a new battery?

I think the battery was last replaced two years ago.

If I need to get a new battery does it have to be a particular one?

Does anyone know the model / link from Halfords that would be good?

A battery should last more than 2 years. Jump start the car then test the charging voltage, which should be about 14 volts. If the charging voltage is Ok it could be something draining the battery, so you will need an amp meter to check for any discharge. If the charging voltage is Ok and there is no drain on the battery, then the battery might be faulty.
