Octy driver window not working

Featured Replies

Got a Mk 1 Octy and the drivers side electric window has stopped working. The other windows work fine from the switch on the drivers door.

Anyone any thoughts on what the problem may be and is there any links with photos of how to remove the panel if needed.

Could either be the motor its self ,loose wire on the motor or maybe its the window switch, my dad had the same problem with his polo. It turned out to be the switch.

Have you tried holding down the open/unlock button on your key fob? My car has and would think all of the vRS have full closure system - i.e all windows will go down if you hold the unlock key on your fob down or they will go up if you hold lock down on your fob. If the window works that way you know it must be the switch! If not then you may have bigger problems!

Full open/closure with the remote is an aftermarket option not standard. All octi's do it by holding the key in the lock in lock or unlock position. To do it with the fob you either need to wire in an alientech controller or flash the convenience module with a KVW100 unit.

Like Ian (Lex) said John, try the key in the door lock if my way doesn't work. Either way it will demonstrate if the window still works or not.

Cheers to you all, have tried the key method and all of the windows went down apart from the drivers door one so it looks like a removal of the door panel as hopefully it is a loose wire (or something similar).
