Anti roll bar

Featured Replies

Hi there, haven’t posted for a while.

I am having trouble finding front and rear anti roll bar for my VRS.

Companies list all other engine sizes but not the 1.8t. I was under the impression that all the mk1 octavias share the same chassis apart from the 4x4.

Thanks.

eibach do them (but i think they are either weird sizes, like front bigger than rear)

neuspeed defo do front and rear, pricey, but then its a quality item

whiteline do a rear

rather than shelling out loads for a front and rear neuspeed arb, just do the 28mm rear then stick on a 23mm front arb from a golf r32. (which is exactly what im gona do over the next 2-3 months)

pretty sure it works out a load cheaper.

When you do this can you post up the part numbers and prices please bud. Something I may be interested in doing if I get the neuspeed 28mm.

I was looking on eibach and found this!

When I e-mailed them and they said that this would not fit.

Eibach Skoda Octavia (1U) Saloon 1.4, 1.6, 2.0, 1.9 SDI, 1.9 TDI 09/1996-05/2004 Front and Rear Anti Roll Kit (E40-85-005-01-11) £269

The vRS is different as it uses an anti roll bar that goes under the driveshafts not over it like a regular Octavia.

yeah no worries buddy, i think jaymd has this set up so may hassle him for some numbers, also have a friend at skoda who should be able to help.

poss doing rarb next month (depending how much hayward and scott charge to sort my exhaust)

then maybe the farb the following month, but i also have to tax her:thumbdwn:

you can get the eibach one, but only in a kit, and as said the front wont work, you could buy the kit and sell the front to one of the cupra or golf forum users to help recoup your costs.

Otherwise, the whiteline is a cheaper option than the expensive neuspeed ones (they do look better than the whitleine one for quality and overall thickness.

Can anyone answer this........

What is the purpose of beefing up the FRONT anti roll bar on a car that already has understeer dialed into its handling charecteristics....WHY....WHY....WHY

Stick a big'n on the rear to balance it out - leave the OEM 19mm one on the front.....save a few quid too!

Word on the street is the octy has a ****load of lift off oversteer when running sumthing like a 28mm rarb, so why not dial it out a bit with a larger farb.

Surely an octavia with a 28mm rarb and 23mm farb will handle better than one with just a large rarb

I could see your point if people weren't upgrading the rear and just doing the larger farb

Totally agree with Steve, I had the Neuspeed 28mm adjustable rear ARB on my old modded Octy vRS together with the OEM front arb, and no under or oversteer problems at all.

Totally transformed the handling of the car.

what setting did you have the bar on mate?

what setting did you have the bar on mate?

would like to know that too

Imo if you have standard suspension then just a rear arb is the way to go, but with aftermarket dampers and shocks which are alot siffer then oem then i reckon a slighty bigger bar up front and similar rear bar is better and will make it more balanced. At the end of the day a way a car drive's and handle's come's down to personal opinion, what might work for one person may not suit everyone.

The Neuspeed rear arb was on the middle setting of the three, and together with KW3's was terrific.

They work just as well with any suspension set up, be it coilovers , standard or FSD's, I know as I tried all three, before settling for KW's, and the arb was always on the middle setting.

Even with KW3 coilovers and the Neuspeed rear arb, there was no need to uprate the front arb, as this just dials in more understeer.

The reason for changing the front as well is that the front bar is fubar. So I thought that a 23 front and 28 rear would be sufficient.

From what I have read this will still give me understeer but at a greater speed.
