Alarm/Manual Unlocking

Featured Replies

I have a W reg Fabia Eleagance. The remote has given up and hopefully it's being sorted next week. In the meantime, is there any way I can lock the car manually WITHOUT setting the alarm? My wife works night shifts and the prospect of waking up the neighbours for a week is not good.

Thanks

John

Hi,

Are you experiencing the alarm triggers upon unlocking? As I understand it you can lock it using the remote and then unlock it manually using the key in the drivers door. The only catch with this method is that you have to get in and start the engine within 15 Secs of unlocking other wise the alarm will be triggered.

Hope this helps,

Mike :)

Thanks Mike

Unfortunately the remote is completely dead so it has to be the key for both locking and unlocking. If I get the key in the ignition quickly (certainly within 15 seconds) and turn it on the alarm will just give a brief 'yelp' but even this is too loud to be neighbourly. I have managed to lock it once, without the LED flashing, so presumably the alarm wasn't set, but how I did this I dont know.

Cheers

John
