How does a sport exhaust sound on a vRS?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if a sports exhaust gives an improved engine note to the vRS and if possible, could you describe how it sounds, if you know?

The only one I heard was that of a red furby vrs at trax which had a sports exhaust. Owner was no Briskodian. Did hear it though and sounded rather nice. A deep throaty kind of burble. At idling, you'd never know it was a diesel ;) Blip the throttle and all would be revealed. Not "loud" but nice 'n' juicy :D

Nice. Definitely sounds good!!

Lets just admit it guys, while the furby vRS is a stunnin' car an all no matter what it still sounds like a tranny van :D

Mine produces a nice burble/grumble on acceleration, but is as normal on idle.

But the common rail diesels are even worse.

Is that what they drove in pricilla queen of the desert???

Ross Clarke's miltek sounds very nice when he canes it - very un-diesel like

:)

On the other hand, I thought common rails were supposed to sound less dieselly? Saying that, above about 2000rpm I think the engine note is not that bad for a diesel
