I have used the search function but I'm still left a bit confused with all the sizes as they differ from thread to thread.

I am looking to upgrade the front speakers so am after the woofer and tweeters, I think I am looking for 16.5cm components but I am at a loss with the depth one thread seems to say 46mm and no more but then another stated 51mm but with a squeeze, so what speakers have people fitted?

Budget is upto around £60 just want a nice clear sound full of bass well as much bass as components can manage!

So what model numbers have you guys fitted?

I have these in my octy. Car Audio Direct - Hertz Dieci DSK 165 - Speakers All you need to do is bend the metal mounting for the window reg back and they go in no problem.

sound quality is spot on for the price.

How easy does the window reg mount bend then? am I going to break anything lol???

They do look decent speakers but mainly I see the mounting depth is 61mm so if those fit in with a bit of bending then anything else upto 61mm should.

Anyone else? what fits without bending anything.

If you take out the drivers side speaker, in the bottom right this is where the window regulator mounts to the door. Where the regulator mounts there is a piece of metal (door frame inner skin) that sticks past by an inch and this is the part that stops the speakers going in. Easy to bend but i trimmed it back and painted it.

With those hertz speakers the tweeter is the same size as the oem tweeter so fits in perfect with no mods.

I've got a set of JBL's in the doors, fitted fine with no mods.
