Lights coming on!!

Whilst driving recently the lights on the dash showing a door is open have been coming on, also the lights on the side of the doors and the interior light, basically the car seems to think the doors are open and they are not?

Tonight I noticed the car also flashing its indicators for about a minute for no reason also. Has anyone any idea what I need to do to fix this as it is driving me mad.

Maybe it will turn into a knightrider style car and start talking to me, unfortunately I think it might just be skoda build quality coming through after 3 years of no probs............any help welcome if not its off to the main dealers:(

Could be a microswitch in a door lock (the bit that senses if a door is open or not). Some people have had success with a liberal spray of WD40 or similar.

Another possibility is the battery is getting low voltage causing confusion in electronuc brains (less likely seeing as it is happening while you are driving and the alternator should be charging).

The dealer (or anyone with Vagcom/VCDS) can look for fault codes which might be helpful.
