The famous coolant temperature sensor

Featured Replies

Hi...

So, I've got the problem with the dashboard engine temp gauge showing nothing and sometimes jumping to 90. From what I've read here, this is because the temp sensor is gone and it needs replacing. I've also read that the new part is green.

So I popped my hood and took a look under. This is, I believe, the sensor in question?

If it is, I'm left wondering has it already been changed since I'm seeing a green part?

If it's not it then I'll have to check deeper tomorrow. If it is the correct part and this is the newer version, what other possible reasons are there? The new model shouldn't be prone to failing, right? No other faults on the car though so I guess I'm off well... BTW this a 2litre engine, AQY, if it is of some matter

I suppose a newer model can still fail, you've got the symptoms so it sound like it's knackered.
