26e6 Campaign (Again!)

Featured Replies

All,

firstly I have done 28000 miles in 10 months since new, with not one murmur from the DPF.

I mentioned this campaign to the dealer at the 18000 mile service and they new nothing of it. They said nothing comes up as outstanding against the chassis number anyway. So I left it.

I want to know is this a must have fix or a 'if you are having problems' fix?

My car is a 08 plate, don't know off hand when it rolled of production, so could it be a case that they fixed this a the manufacturing stage as well?

I want to know if I should be pushing this with my local dealership.

Thanks!

My car is a 57 plate made in August. I had the DPF26e6 done this month. Don't know whether that helps.

As the 26E6 campaign was instigated in July/August 08 I'd expect that any car built after then would have been modified during production. Depends when your '08 car was built.

Well I bought in May, so that would suggest that it needs doing?

The campaigns are controlled by chassis number, so assuming the dealership has correctly checked your chassis number then it seems you don't require it.

If your chassis number tells them you don't require it that's it they can't do it - The system won't allow it.

Just to add if you have access to VCDS then you ought to be able to check the software revision -

ECU -

03G906018EB - SW version 2148

03G906018HB - SW version 2148

03G906018EL - SW verison 9953

Thanks in advance
