Knocking noise o/s/f - ARB?

Featured Replies

Well..

To say I am upset is an understatement really. Took my car to FARMERS SKODA today to have an MOT and check out a knocking noise coming from the drivers side front wheel area.

It's a kind of clunking, knocking noise that happens over bumpy roads, at low speeds.

Unfortunatley the noise is not evident immediately, it takes about 10 minutes driving before it starts to happen.

Anyway...I arranged to work from home today (which isn't an easy thing to do) and dropped the car off on Sunday for the work to be completed today. Also pulled in a favor and had someone take me through the rush hour traffic to go and collect it just now.

So needless to say..after all that hassel I was non too pleased to find that...

"They could not get the car to make the noise" so they have done naff all about it!!

Now I had told them that I thought it was the Anti Roll Bushes and that it was a little intermittent....and all they did was visually check the bushes..which they state look fine.

Anyway...drove it home and after 10 mins, sure enough, then knocking is back.

So I call Farmers and tell them I am on my way back, to which they say.."well all our technicians have gone home now, so we can't help....just pop it back in Wednesday 1st"

It's just massively inconvenient!!...I need to sort out working from home again now..all because they didn't really check out the issue.

Anyway..I just thought I would vent a bit and express my massive dissapointment in FARMERS SKODA - LEICESTER

Had similar experience with Farmers. Fob you off at every opportunity. "Yes we know the engine is revving at 1500 at idle but it isn't coming through on the diagnostics so we can't do anything". Nice.

Guys, if you're that hacked off with the dealership, make suitable comments in the Review Centre, under the "The Site" button, at least if you have the right API.

Must admit I've just had a similar experience with Albar (the other Skoda dealer in the Leicester area). Left them with a list of issues none of which they could find when they checked but which were immediately apparent to me even as I was driving away.

Funnily enough they could MOT fail the windscreen wipers that had been working fine when I drove there in the rain. Not in any way related to the fact that they are having a special offer on MOTs at the moment I'm sure.

Anyway, whinge mode off.

More constructively, are there any independent Skoda or VAG specialists in the Leicester area that would be worth a look instead?
