Need Help ! Mass Fly Wheel

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

Could anyone advise me. Over the last week my car developed a knocking coming from the clutch area.

I had a feeling that it was a problem with the Dual bloody flywheel (a known fault). My car is out of warranty. I have taken my car in today to get this fault checked out and yes it’s a problem with the duel flywheel.

I got a call from the garage saying the car is too dangerous to drive due to the fault and that there is no Good Will to cover this repair.

I then got in contact with Skoda UK, who started an investigation to see if anything could done to help with paying for the fault.

This will make you laugh.... because I bought my car second hand from another car dealer other than Skoda and because I have chosen to have my car serviced elsewhere but Skoda. I have been told that I have shown very little loyalty to Skoda. Huh (I drive around in the bloody thing, plus I have mentioned to a few in my family who are looking into buying the vRS)

The guy on the phone got it with both barrels, not his fault I know..... but it made me feel better.

Anyone got any advise.

I will take it that this problem has been mention on the forum before. So apologies

Cheers thanks for the link.

There is an alternative to a DMF now you can change the flywheel back to a solid one but you do have to buy a new clutch as well however this works out a lot cheaper as the solid flywheel is approx £90.00
