Current spec L&K innards question..

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Have been lurking for a while and finally got something to ask !!!

Company car is due for change this year (currently an 06 L&K 2.0PD hatch Black Magic & black leather).

Question is:- What are the opinions on the current interior trim options in the L&K?

I am not convinced by the brochure pics of the 'light leather', but it seems that if you go black, then it's alcantara...

Asked 'salesman' at local dealer who said 'grey or black leather'.. Hmmmm...

Anyone seen, felt, sniffed either the grey or the black?

If the alcantera is the fake suedey feel, then not keen, as like the 'wipe clean' of the shiny cow seats, so would go to wards the grey - but that shows the dirt more to start with....

Arghhhhhhh.....

(OK - sorry... I know there's far more disturbing things in the world to worry about !)

:)

Thanks !!!

Ian

Website seemed a bit vague to me so I went and got a brochure. I seems that your options are light coloured leather or black Alcantara.

When I ordered my car a year ago I was puzzled why Alcantara costs the same as leather!! One year on, my opinion is the part leather/part Alcantara seats are fantastic. They resist marking and wear and tear better than any fabric.

Dont be too impressed by the leather quality on the L&K seats though. In any case, it is only the front faces are leather and the rest is a matching imitation leather (or vinyl) which must be relatively cheap to produce.

I would have thought that most customers prefer the dark interior from a practical point of view so I hope that Skoda review their interior options in the next 2 years before I change my current car.

i was looking at anew L&K with black alcantara seats the other day. the side panels and headrests are leather, as are the door linings. Smelt quite leathery. It looked smart enough, but I felt it was a bit sombre as pretty much everything below the roof lining was black. I checked that a full alcantara option wasn't available (as on the Superb SE). It's not. So the choice is I think full leather in light grey or alcantara/leather in black

I have a 2007 L&K with the light leather seats.

The quality of the leather isn't in question IMO, they are still looking good after 82,000 miles and I get in the car with grubby jeans after a days work. The drivers seat doens't have any significant creases or signs of wear at all.

Yes they take a little bit more looking after but they aren't that bad on the grand scheme of things. I keep a tub of leather wipes in the car and give them a wipe over regularly. I also give them a proper seeing to with some buffalo leather cleaner once every few months.

The one thing I dislike is the colour of the door pulls, they are the same light grey/blue colour and really show the dirt but a swift wipe over and they are clean again :)

Yes, there are bits of the seat that are not genuine leather but you wouldn't tell and you would be surprised at the number of manufacturers that pull the same stunt. No one has ever pointed out the fake bits in my car.

The light coloured bits brighten the cabin up no end and makes it look a little more classy IMO. I also added a silver surround to the central part of the dash to liven up the sea of black plastic.

OK, ta for the infos.

So, it sounds like the black is still shiny like the '06 L&K, not suedey feel...

Also sounds like the grey could still be worth a look and feel in person if I can find a dealer with one.

Cheers !

I saw a blue facelift L&K Estate in our local (to office) Skoda dealer, H L Austin, Wandsworth and was surprised to see that the interior was black leather (not alcantara as in previous black option).

So, maybe the spec has changed with the facelift?

I think this is the same car I was referring to earlier. If it is, the central parts of the seat are alcantara, but I agree perhaps not so suede like as some.

The brochure shows the facelifted L&K with standard leather (no colour mentioned) with alcantara (no colour mentioned) as a free of charge option.

Then on page 20 under "Trims & Wheels" it shows Light Leather or Onyx Alcantara.

On the website's configurator it states "fabric interior seats/dashboard/carpet and you can only select "Onyx" - no mention of leather or alcantara - only the aforementioned 'fabric' heading????

Then when you move on to the "Extra Equipment " section you can select "alcantara including active headrests & heated front seats" - no colour is mentioned

It is the same lack of clarity regarding the 1.4 TSI DSGs - 6 or & 7 speed, standard or optional ESP & Hill Hold Control.

Is it any wonder there is a state of confusion.

PS I see the current UK brochure expires today - will they get the new one right?

Don't bet on it.

If you go for the black option its defo with alcantara. Friend has a facelift Mk II L & K delivered on Friday - she didn't want the light leather and she's slightly disappointed with the alcantara on first sight (she'll get used to it).

If you want leather in an Elegance, however, its ALL leather apparently. Curious indeed.

The latest brochure has now made its appearance and all appears to have been corrected - EXCEPT it still states that the 1.4 TSI DSGs are 6 speed - which is nonsense - they are all 7 speed.

Still 2 out of 3 aint bad!

Any chance a photo of your dash?
