NOS?

Featured Replies

Now I think it's kind of silly that a man of my age would want NO2 in his car, but that 75hp Auto is sloooowwww and frankly It's really starting to get to me when you find that It's hard to overtake cyclists and that Fiat Uno with the creaky roof rack just sails past. I thought someone on here would have NOS in a Fabia, especially a Diesel as it's cheaper to fit and works better on a Diesel apparantley, also my Auto would make a good choice because I have no clutch to burn out! I looked at the Wizards of NOS kit for a Fuel injected engine, Is the 75hp a Carb or Injection engine? and going by what they say how fast would a 175hp Fabia Saloon go, more to the point, what would it look like?

It's an injection engine...and while you don't have a clutch to destroy, you can still knacker an auto-box through putting an extra 100bhp through it... ;)

25-50bhp is probably more "sensible"... :)

It has electronic multi-point fuel injection. (Oops, beaten by Rob). Torque converters can and do fail as I found to my cost when I owned an Audi 100CD5E and used it to tow a large caravan.

Yes, I'd only use it when I really needed it, It's not like I'd have it turned on to 100+bhp everytime I drove it, probably want atleast 125hp out of everyday driving. And how fast could it be, On full 100+bhp COuld I enter CIvic Type R Territory?

thought about a remap then say a 30 shot of nos? strip any excess weight. most quick, easy cost effective to make a car faster.

I can't help thinking you've bought the wrong car.

Look, for a smidge over nine-and-a-half thousand pounds, you can have MobTob's Revo'd, nearly-new, Fabis vRS. When you've bought that, you won't have to complain how

1) Slow your car is

2) Ugly the Fabia saloon is

3) Inefficient the auto 'box is

4) ... :2002headw

A remap wont be that effective, it's not a turbocharged engine, though I suppose It could have an ECU from an Audi A2 or something similar, and as for stripping weight it's still the Family Run about so I cant exactly Gut it all out, though will taking the tofees out of the Glovebox keep up with the scooby boys?, Yes my Saloon IS awfully ugly, I might just have The Wifes 1.8 Focus and Sell the Saloon, Dealerships are allways ready to take Auto's of your hands, since there arn't many.

I can't help thinking you've bought the wrong car.

I mean would you A: Have a Unreliable EX-Fleet Fabia Saloon with HGV Rivalling performance, combined with a Flat cap and Whippet Impression or

B: Have the Worlds most popular and best selling car that's never had a single breakdown, been driven on it's RIMS at hight speed (If your wife has a flat tyre FIX IT QUICKLY) and hasn't even battered an eyelid, not to mention that 1.8 ha fairly Eye Watering performance and It's handling is MX5 like, only problem is it's a manual, I do have a manual License but DO you think it's worth sacrificing the Automatic Gear changes?

P.S Just wondered if the Focuses Rev Limiter was disabled by previous owner, It revs right up to 7k, Where the needle hit's a stopper but the engine carries on revving, it was welsh so lots of 8k fun on B roads and mountains perhaps?

I can't help thinking you've bought the wrong car.

It's good for in and out city driving

indeed. not meaning to divert the topic...but we recently had one of my dads american friends over to stay for a few weeks. anyway. my dad showed him his aston (classic V8) and the american bloke was like - oo the james bond car, lovely.

then my dad...STUPIDLY offered that he take it for a little ride up and down the drive - about a mile long.

he had NO sense of manual gears at all. after about 20seconds my dad just pulled the handbrake and asked him to get out.

never. ever. again. even worse was the same bloke when he later hired an automatic focus to go around london and the like...encountered his first ever roundabout in his life.

he was *this* close to a fatal accident. we should ban them from the roads i say! lethal.

Yes, AMericans like Saloons, Automatics and They have virtually no roundabouts. Theres nothing in Skoda's range that would appeal to an American, with the exception of a Superb Elegance 2.6 V6 Tipo.

...use the focus dude.

the saloon fabia is damned ugly.

The roundabouts are quite common i some areas of the States. America has a growing number of roundabouts or as they like to call them 'traffic circles'. Sure there no where near common but I encountered a surprizing number on my travels. Auto boxes are needed for American Driving however considering the amount of stop signs, and congestion on highways etc. I'd hate to have a manual in LA, your right hand would have blisters. I'm not sure about the Superb having the only appeal to Americans. I think the Fabia and the Octavia would do O.K sales wise too if they tryed hard enough. The Diesels especially will do well.

I think the new automatics are great and I've got a soft spot for them. Sure they may be slower but the new stuff esp. the DSG box from VAG which looks really good. However it's 'lasy' driving.
