Dealers now do exchange units and VAG parts come with guarantee. You do need to be absolutely certain you are buying the correct version for your car if buying elsewhere. A recent eBay ad I saw was for reconditioned MAFs - not new ones - but the ad did not make that clear.

Yep - I got one running in my car now - weird thing is that one has "AX" on the end of the model number, where-as mine just had an "A" on the end - might be time for a google search to see where the "AX" derivative originates from.

AHA! It would appear an "X" on any part number is a rebuilt unit - not sure what that means but it doesn't fill me with much enthusiasm to get one! :confused:
