Fusion CA-CD500 not remembering stored stations etc

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Am hoping someone may be able to help. I fitted the above headunit a few weeks ago, when I fitted it I swapped the two wires with the bull (?) connectors over as I read somewhere on here this needs to be done for it to have a continuous power to remember settings etc. However this doesn't seem to have worked, occasionally it remembers settings (such as stored radio stations, where on the cd I was etc) but most of the time it goes back to factory default settings. I set the clock a couple weeks ago and it seems to remember the time ok. Can anyone suggest why this may be happening please?

(I also have a remote locking problem which I think my require a new central convenience unit....... could both problems be caused by this??)

Thanks,

Dan.

So nobody has got a clue why this is happening then? I assume it is dodgy electrics somewhere - Central Convenience Unit perhaps??

Dunno if it helps but I bought the official Skoda kit for my Octy II. Looked to be working but forgot settings after about 3 days. I had to swap the wires over for +12v and ignition to make that work (despite it being the official part). Still no joy. In the end it was the VW/Other fuse on the back of the unit that I had to swap back to the Other position from the VW one.

Perhaps there's a fuse on the back that needs changing to a second position?

Thanks unclerichy. I don't think its a setting/switch though, as sometimes it does remember the stations/settings even though its not been driven for a couple days, but most of the time it forgets, so I assume there must be a fault with the electrics somewhere?

I assume this could be associated with the central locking maybe? Everytime I open the drivers door I hear a buzzin noise for 2/3 seconds...... and I don't think that was there when I had the original headunit fitted.

I've noticed with the clock that it normally forgets the time, but then after a few mins it figures out what the time is - dono if it talks to the dashboard clock to synchronise?
