Replacing Washer Jets

Featured Replies

Hi, has anyone got photos or a diagram of how to get the washer jets off on a Mk2 Octy? I am fed up trying to unblock the passenger side one, so I intend to bite the bullet and order new ones.

Does anyone know how much they cost and part numbers etc.

Cheers

In the region of a fiver. Simply lift them out - the pipe often pops off doing this. The using some small long noise pliers carefully grip the pipe just below the stress marks where they go onto the jet. Twist the new jet down onto the pipe and then clip the jet back into place. I have soaked them in de-scaler before - but new ones are easier. I have an 2005 Octy and the replacement jets are more rounded in design but are completely compatible.

Been to the local dealer and parted with hard earned brass for new washer jets. As promised the old jet just pulls out. Then the fun started. The old jet had a connection that swiveled round to meet the water pipe, the new one only pointed downwards and the water pipe is rigid with no extra length. I ended up going to the local tropical fish centre and buying some clear polythene tubing to replace the whole piece. Not a difficult job....just annoying when the pipes dont reach. Thanks to all for the help and advice.

What washer fluid are you using?

Replaced all 3 on mine last week. Difference is like night and day and I have been using genuine VAG fluid since new.

My rear wipe washer is blocked, I thought the pipe had come off..... uncliped the jet, got her in doors to toggle the stick and got a face full of water..... NICE

I think I will get a new one, but a nice idea of using de-scaler I think I will try that first. Cheers

Mine KEEP on blocking - i've been running plain water through them since Xmas - and they've been cleaned by Skoda since - i had to have a replacement a couple of weeks back - now the other side has blocked up - bloody irritating!

I wonder if de-ionised water would stop the limescale?
