PS3 on 28" CRT - best connection options?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a PS3 currently running on a Sony Wega Trinitron 28" widescreen CRT TV.

It came with normal composite cables but I know these are like the worst option availiable (even though I was still impressed by quality after playing on my mates 32" samsung in full HD for 2 years).

So I changed it to an S-VIDEO connection, and according to the PS3 it is now running at 576i.

However I have read online that an RGB Scart would give me the best possible quality on a CRT, is it worth changing or just sticking with the S-VIDEO?

also there are options for 4:3 or 16:9 resolutions, which one should it be set at?

Does it have a component input? That would be best of all.

No it doesnt :(

RGB will be an improvement over S-Video.

Not vast , but worth doing

16:9

not had any experience of RGB , but the S-video was pretty good compared with the normal yellow plug

i set it to 16:9 but it always defaults back to 4:3

The TV or the PS3?

Its alright, I've set ps3 to 16:9 now and it holds it.

quite impressed with s-video so might upgrade to rgb at some point but ok for now.
