Do Mk2 Estate Seats and door cards fit in a Mk2 Hatch?

Featured Replies

Hi all, as the title suggests.

Will estate seats and door cards fit a hatchback?

I would 99% say yes. Its only different from the back of the seats onwards

I would say YES too.

Yes they do.

The only time you will run into probs is with the door cards. That will only be if you don't have rear elec windows and get door cards from a car with elec windows or vice versa. Also you may have probs if you are putting then into a non vRS car as they have an extra speaker slot (vRS has 8 speakers over other models which have 4 unless you get the 12 speaker option can't remember the name) having not really paid attention as to where they are in relation to a non vRS i couldn't say.

Otherwise they are a straight swap as simon has already pointed out the cars only differ from behind the seats back

Spot on, just been and collected some half leather vrs seats ;).

They are little grubby but in a damn site better condition than whats in the car at the mo.

There are a few trims missing...but thats not a problem at the moment.

As for the rear door cards, im tempted to drill through the cards to allow for the rear window winders.

Its rare i have the rear windows open anyway, and dont usually carry people in the back.

Many thanks to you all.

Actually the rear door cards are a little shorter :(

Looks like im going to need to undo the top section of the door cards and bond the tops of my old door cards to the new ones.

Does anyone know if the trim along the glovebox is removable without causing damage?

As im going to need a silver trim for it now.

Sorry to get to this one late but yes they are shorter the same as the Fabia as the door is a different shape.

well spank my *** and call me charlie, id never have guessed that, my apologies for telling lies. :o

Right, i've come across another small problem.

I've just started to fit the rear seat bases and the bolsters, and come across the fact that my old rear seats consist of a one piece upper and lower sections.

Now I knew the rear seats were 60:40 splits, but i've found the mounting system for the lower seats are different. Which looks like you could tilt the seats forward to allow the rear back rests to fold flat.

Where the front parts of the seats clip into the plastic mount, look completely different to the one piece base.

Im now wondering if there are different plastic clips in the body are interchangable to accept the larger rods in the rear seat bases?

Otherwise at the moment there only hooked in by the edges :(

Next question, is how does the rear uprights detatch from the body?

It appears theres a rod running through the seats and into the body with a small plastic star shaped insert as its about to enter the body. Then theres a support about 2/3'rds of the way across holding the rod against the bottom of the car.

Can anyone help me out at all please?

Many apologies for the lengthy post.
