Skoda Badge

Featured Replies

Hi all,

this might be a bit of a silly question, however its annoying me.

took my car into work today and put it on the ramp to make sure everything was fine and dandy. a bloke at work also has a vRS and its exactly the same age but done double the mileage of mine.

on closer inspection we noticed that my front and rear skoda badges were more of a turquise colour, compared to his darker more vibrant green.

is this just due to fading from the sun??! neither of us keep them in a garage so its puzzled me. are there different badges?

Cheers

Its due to sunlight. Mine were turquoise when I bought it from the dealer and also had some bubbling under the surface. Bought a pair of replacement front and back badges and fitted them last month (£13 each from dealers), the green on them is very dark, almost black.

thank you very much.

seen some new ones on ebay. do they stick on?! or have pins in the back?

They have two locating pins on the back (one is bigger than the other) and should come with sticky stuff on the back with a peel off coating if they are genuine Skoda ones.

Careful when buying them from ebay, unless you know they are the correct size, ask the seller what the part number is, as I bought some wheel centre caps off of ebay which looked like the real thing but were too small when they turned up :(

For removing the old front badge you need to open the bonnet and snip the ends of the pegs off where they poke through as they are sometimes melted to hold the badge in place better.

For the back one just warm it up and slice it off with fishing line or similar.

ok mate thanks for your help! i know im pushing my luck now, but you dont know the part numbers do you?!?

First thing i did was replace every single exterior badge including centre caps on my car as they had all faded or become stone chipped.

Front and rear badge are exactly the same and have the same part no.
