swirls

Featured Replies

Have a race blue vrs ,seems to be loads of swirls in the paintwork all over,the car is just a year old is there any quick fix to get them out and if so what do i need .

Autoglym Super Resin Polish and/or Bilt-Hamber Autobalm will fill them and give a good finish.

A more permanent finish would be a machine polish

My advice would be to contact Baker21 and get it sorted properly! :thumbup:

Do a search for him on this forum and i'm sure you will see what i mean.

Would help if you can put some pics up to show the extent of the swirls. As others have said, and depending on how bad they are, you can either try to fill them (Autoglym Super Resin Polish SRP) or remove them (machine polish). Machine polishing is explained well in Machine Polishing by Dual Action Polisher - Full Guide - Detailing World

In the meantime, you need to understand where the swirls have come from, and make sure the car doesn't get any worse.

Do you wash with a sponge or chamois? Do you use car washes - either the brush type or the local Eastern European hand job tye? None of these is good for you car.

Read the stickie threads at the top of this section, and make you you use the two bucket wash method in future.

andy2407 has summed things up well and if the car is showing signs of swirls then you really have two options:

1) Fill the swirls;

2) Machine Polish the paintwork to remove them:

As stated you need to refine your wash process to ensure that you are not adding any more swirls onto your paintwork and this can be done easily with the investment of a few key detailing items.............:thumbup:

Cheaper to get a professional job done on it

Get it machined polished mate. Baker would be a good bet, his work looks top notch. I will be enlisting his services when I can afford too :)
