The obvious one due to its age is the cambelt so its good that its been done already.

Dual mass flywheel is a known issue so again its good that its been taken care of.

Have a look at this page for some more common problems: Octavia-vRS.com - Octavia A5 Common or Known Problems and Issues

Other than that, check the obvious stuff like the air conditioning and such like.

As said above.I have this model Octy and iam very pleased with it.Glad the flywheel is done already

The air bag connector under the seats should have the modified plug. Rear tyre wear and road noise, if the rear tyres are uneven the alignment might be out. Hold the menu button on the radio for 10 seconds and check that the top left of the screen shows ANT: ON. If it displays ANT OFF the aerial base amplifier is faulty.

Had new Octavia 1.9 08 for 2 months now.

Annoying things that would have stopped me buying it if I knew then what I know now, but you still have time to check out list:

1. Engine noise change at 1900-2000 revs [goes worse (louder) under load and also around 3000, but that doesn't bother me because I don't go that fast].

2. Poor radio reception [FM, not tried AM. Most noticeable on speech based programmes, i,e, quieter bits - how hard can it be Skoda?].
