question about brakes

Featured Replies

I have an octavia II 1.8tsi 2008. i think that brakes are not good enought so i want to upgrade them. I know that i can install rsII brakes. does anyone know if i can replace only disk or both disk and caliber?

Same problem here. I'm driving a 2008 1.8TSi.

Before that I had a 2005 1.6MPI, but the brakes were way better on the old one.

I was bothering my service with this brake issue, but they said, that the brakes were OK and that there's nothing they could do.

So if anyone has an "easier" idea - go ahead. I just don't want to change the whole brake system.

Many reported good things on Ferodo DS2500 or EBC Red Stuff ceramic, but you should look for the correct part for your disc diameter.

I believe you can use your existing caliper, all you need is the larger caliper carrier and matching discs

Have a read through this thread;- http://briskoda.net/octavia-ii/312mm-brake-upgrade/106188/ as it should answer your questions and much more.

Certainly, from my driving a vRS, the 312mm front discs (OE kit for me) with upgraded pads are all you will need for (sensible) fast road use. Perhaps do your mods by stages by trying upgraded pads first (as the callipers are the same).

Good luck.
