will vw golf carpets fit a mark one octy vrs

Featured Replies

my mates just asked me to see if any one knows if a mark 4 golf carpet will fit a vrs octy mark one i have done a search but no one has answered the question cheers

A look at VagCat shows the pictorials to appear very similar, for both cars, and in theory the seats are interchangeable suggesting the floor pan is similar. Perhaps its time to get the tape measure out and make some comparisons of key measurements like footwells, centre tunnel etc.

the octy shares the floor pan with the golf as does the seat leon and audi a3. obviously it will need to be a 5 door golf, but the carpet should fit, the only concern is the wether the inner 'b' post and sill trim pieces of the octy, will match up to the golf carpet? as leeboy says, the seats are interchangeable, so the holes for the runners will be in the right place. i

Well I compared just the mats as I had a spare set of mk4 golf ones to the octy ones and they are the same bar the drivers side, so it looks like there may be a difference around the pedals.

It specifically seems to be the top right hand corner, I think the golf has a foot rest next to the accelerator, so maybe a slight difference there on the octy.

if they do fit, let us know...

I have MK4 R32 mats in my MK1 4x4. Fit nicely.

I thought although the floorpan is the same the octy has been slightly extended at the back. A bit more leg room? If this is the case the the carpet may fall short.

Not 100% sure though
