Interior lights not working?

Featured Replies

Just got back from a night out and for some reason the interior lights don't come on when the car is ulocked or when you turn the engine off?

Any one know what this is? They turn on when the switch is used...

Try opening a door other than the drivers door, if they come on now, the central locking micro switch has packed in. If no light with other doors open, S contact in ignition switch.

I had this problem from my drivers side door only, a quick clean of the parts I assumed made the connection seemed to clear it up.

I tried both doors last night and still no light!

Cheers thou.

Then it will be the door position monitor unit which is inside the door casing by the drivers door handle. All that slamming of the drivers door dislodges the connections, it's a well know VAG family problem. The micro switch or soldered connections will be loose, not an easy job to remove and fix but is do-able if you have enough time.
