Remap & Boost 1.8T

Featured Replies

Hi,

Been a while since I have been on here!

Am considering a vRS but it seems since I last looked at remaps for the 1.8T opinions have changed a little. Would likely be a generic map and I would like smooth power throughout.

Immediately companies like Custom Code and Revo spring to mind for this but they seem to be running pretty high boost in their maps from posts I have read. I seem to recall companies like APR claiming approx 210hp/220+lbft using not much over 1bar/15psi. Seems to be much less mention of Jabbasport nowadays too?

Thanks in advance.

the beauty of our software is that it's switchable.... if you don't want to run much boost you don't have too! you can run anyware from 12psi(stock) to 22psi(aggressive)

Thanks for the reply - so all your dealers have the ability to do this? i.e. I could have it installed straight off with certain settings or would this require the purchase of a switch?

Been on your site and the settings you have on the 1.8T are low boost 9, timing 4. What sort of boost level is 'low boost 9' (have just read this is also equal to high boost 6 or something). Also assuming I wanted to map the car for super unleaded i.e. 97/98ron, I should ask for timing 7 (or maybe 6 to be safe?).

Most importantly what sort of characteristic of map would this give - don't want any spikes, just super smooth.

I had an APR trial map on my Octavia vRS, and it flew!

So much smoother, more MPG, more torque. Was a lot better at cruising on the motorway.

I have a Jabba custom remap and also have their variable boost controller fitted which effectively allows the boost to be adjusted anywhere from full back to near standard tune.
