Aside from covering the front of my car in oil...

.. what can I do to stop the flies sticking quite so stubbornly to the front face of my fabia? ;)

Getting them off isn't a problem but I'd rather they wiped off without any real effort :)

Clingfilm?

Used it for long drives to shows when I had my Vento, slab-like front end was prone to it!

That's a very good idea indeed! Thanks :)

Just thinking about the journey down to Castle Combe on Saturday - a lot of it will be done over 50mph so dead flies and stuff will be a big problem I expect :D - shame if the rest of the car is clean!

I did Newport to Northampton, pulled the clingfilm off and front was good! Bit of quick detailer and jobs a goodun!

Yep , clingfilm works well as a short term preventative measure , and more generally just keeping it really well waxed helps.

I had to remove bits of pheasant from the front of my octavia yesterday!

Drive in reverse

Or drive like a proper Skoda driver at about 35mph - I guess that would solve the problem!

A hot microfbre cloth placed over the dead bugs. Leave for a moment or 2 and then wipe off.

Not forgetting to leave gaps for the radiator and intercooler. :D:thumbup:

I've heard good things from guys plowing through muddy fields on crossers, using something called Muc Off.

I've personally never heard of it, but apparently the mud just runs off :)

Flies may just wipe off at the other end, rather than having to peel/scrape them off.

I have some Skoda Branded insect remover and glass cleaner I might bring along along with some kitchen rolls :)
