Rotary practise on the wifes car.

Featured Replies

Sorry Simon I know I said I was going to make contact and I will soon:)

I had a play with my rotary polisher tonight with some Farecla G3. The wifes 106 was broken into a few years ago and the police dusted the car for prints. They found some alright but must have used sodium hydroxide as I've never been able to clean the marks off since:rolleyes:

Until tonight:D

I gave the car a good wash at the weekend so just quickly rinsed and clayed the areas. I didn't use a lot of polish and put this on a blue polish sponge. I'm encouraged by the result but need to see things in sunlight to make sure i haven't got any haze marks....

Hey no worries mate, you said you were going to have a play first anyway?

Resutls look good and you will find the G3 very dry and dusry depending on what pad your using?

How do the paintwork look under the lights now? Looks like a vast improvement...........

I kept wetting the pad while I was going but this threw the polish all over the rest of the car. I'm hoping the Menzerna stuff is better behaved:D

I did check using a torch last night and the swirls certainly have been addressed. It's not perfect but I guess going over with a finishing product would be the next stage?

True test would be in sunlight though.

Menz can be just as dry mate but practice with these products helps, surface temperature of the paintwork and humidity effects the process also............

A finishing polish will help for sure with any bufer trials, etc so just keep practicing as that mates perfect...........:D

You can practice on mine if you want. :D

Other side done tonight. Very prominent scratch from a branch or some sort no doubt. I think I need more practise on taking photos of before and after as I don't think the pics do it justice. Panels feel super smooth :)

Bonnet is also done but fading light meant the photos would not have been good.

Roof and remaining panels to go and onto the next victim :D

After I have seen you and decided which finishing product to use. :D I don't want to use the G3 on mine if I can help it as there is far less swirls and scratches on mine.

I'll send you a pm.
