Seat suspension?

Featured Replies

Would it be possible to fit ibiza cupra springs and shocks to a fabia estate (2002)?

and would it make much difference to:

1. Handling

2. Ride

3. Ride height

Cheers,

Pete

I imagine the fronts would fit in so much as everything would be in the right place however i'm not 100% whether they would improve the handling or drop the ride height as the set-up would be for a different weight of engine.

As for the rears.... I couldn't say about fitting the suspension. You would need to ask someone who has fiddled with an estate. I know someone here built a VRs 'estate' so I would think its possible.

not very helpful i know but its all I know!

The Cupra was available with the 1.9 PD engine, so as long as you get the right bits engine weight shouldn't be an issue(?).

I believe it's slightly lower than an FR (more so at the rear, mine sits level front/rear) which was, in turn slightly lower than other Ibiza'a. The Cupra was softer sprung than the FR but had firmer dampers. People complain that it's a crashy ride, I don't find it too bad tbh

Well I'm running some suspension designed for a VRS on my SDi so I think most of the Diesel engines are more or less inter-changable

ive got koni dampers from an ibiza to go on mine but the ibiza koni springs don't fit? not sure if its the same with the stanard ibiza parts?
