Felicia front strut bar

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if felicias come with a strut member as standard as mine didn't have one:confused:.And i picked one up at my local scrapies for the princely sum of £7:rofl:Plus do they make a noticeable difference to handling as i haven't fitted it as yet.

My 98 Lxi has one

Think generally they have them but some seemed to miss out.

Not sure really. My 96 has one btw.

Phil

my 1.3 fav didn't have one

my 1.3 felicia didn't have one

but my 1.6 felicia does have one

so i think it was only fitted as standard to the 1.6 and 1.9 felicias

so i think it was only fitted as standard to the 1.6 and 1.9 felicias

So why does my 1.3 and phils have one ?

So why does my 1.3 and phils have one ?

Because they're special and don't like to conform!

lol..... weird as well as mines the boggo base model and your's is the top of the range one.

mines is the bog standard model as well and as i say didn't have one.Well its all stripped repainted and on the car and i must say the difference is noticeable straight away. Thanks for all the info guys:)

I also believe this to be true

I think that some of the later 1.3 and philje's "special" L+K have them too, the original, or early ones don't. hth.

i think it may well have been optional aswell, because i know the tubular "sport" one was an ad-on

Or maybe the ones unfortunate enough to go to kwik fit etc to get a new battery had them left off.

My Favorit never had one.

My P-reg 1.3 GLXi estate never had one.

My P-reg 1.3 LXi (I think. Bottom of the range anyway) DID have one.

My current T-reg SLXi 1.6 DOES have one.

Maybe they pulled raffle tickets out of a bag in the factory for the 1.3's. LoL

Lol.. I think pinkskud has it.

Think they must have been standard on all 1.6 and 1.9's to try and compensate for the extra weight and then it was offered just as an option up to the facelift and then offered standard from then on...

I also wouldn't know how much difference it makes as I've never driven my car without it... and it still understeers like a barge!

My 1.3 LXi has a strut bar, it is a 2000 W reg, and I know it had it from new as it is my sisters old car.

the strut bar was actually for the 1.6 engine, because this is a very heavy block... later all models got one... the first 1.3 engines did not have on (mine neather, but it has now)

My 97 1.3LX has one and I bought it from a pensioner who was first owner, I can't imagine a 60 yr old going for the "sporty" option.

the strut brace wont reduce the understeer, in fact it will increase understeer unless you stiffen the rear to match.
