Factory special or damage repaired?

Featured Replies

I don't like that colour. Why would any spend all that money to make it that colour?

I can't help but think that the seller is a bit aspirational on the pricing - £6500 is roughly 50% of the new price (incl. leather) at 5 years old. Especially since it's pretty much either got to be an import or a respray.

I paid 6.5k for my red 04 plate vrs in jan from a local bury st edmunds dealer but the car only had a gen 18.5k on the clock with fssh every year regardless.

Aswell as this one being a respray are we even sure it is a vrs? It has the wrong vrs badge on the boot lid?

It's a full respray.. I emailed the seller and told him I didn't want to buy but was just genuinly interested as a fan of vRS's.. I got this reply.

Interesting! The V5 says Red with no change of colour listed. Paintcode in boot is 9910 if that means anything to you. The cars shows no signs whatsoever of having ever had any paintwork.

Let mo know if you discover anything, as it's always nice to be in full knowledge of the facts.

Nick.

Hi Rob

Thanks for the heads up on the Skoda. It was indeed once black, but no-one knows when it was changed. The V5 doesn't state that it had a colour change. It's not been reshelled as it is still black under the bonnet, but the paint job is the best I've ever seen. Anyway, it's been returned to where I bought it from. I don't need cars with history, so thanks for your interest.

Cheers

Nick

He sounds like a nice guy! ;) Bet the place/people he got it from aint to happy though.

Nice work there.

Interesting car and colour choice.

I like that colour on the VRs - I think it suits - pretty unique!

I'd buy it!

Nope, my badge was the same as that.

Earlier cars had long badges. :)

Yeah, They were longer cuz they were Octty ones on the early Furbys.

It was about 04 when they revised it so that checks out. I highly suspect the face lift lights are a retrofit though as the earliest I've seen out of the factory are on late 54's.

It's a bit early for a LE prototype, Could have been a Pre-facelift review of the colours available on the vRS for the 05 model year? Though, that could mean more do surface. That could explain the lights as well?

18,500 miles in 5 years? Has the engine ever been run fully warmed up?

And I would still hold that unless your car has something very special about it, that's way too much for a 5 year-old Fabia.

I emailed the seller, he told me it had never been sprayed... go figure!

Is it not Flamenco Red? I think it looks quite nice but then I do like that colour on the 'normal' Fabia as well.
