Factory special or damage repaired?

Featured Replies

Its Metallic red I know its available on the new Fabia, can see no reason why it wouldn't be on the old one, though never seen it before. Wouldn't expect it to be a repair job either way as its more expensive to respray the whole car than just the panels replaced/repaired.

Well, that's quite impressive if it's a vRS-Transplant into a red shell.

I suspect a respray though, as the handles are painted and it's an 04 so pre-dates that update to the range. also, facelift lights but a non facelift grille. (not that that's uncommon, mines got that setup) ;)

Also, the side strips have been painted and Skoda never did that (I think)

But the vRS was only available in Corrida Red, Black Magic, Lemon/Sprint Yellow, Reflex Silver and the SE in Race Blue only.

Hence why I asked if it was a factory special ;)

Weird

I dont know how these stack up with regards to a vRS.

The vehicle details for OY04 NHZ are:

Date of Liability 22 04 2009

Date of First Registration 01 03 2004

Year of Manufacture 2004

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1896CC

CO2 Emissions 146g/Km

Fuel Type Heavy Oil

Export Marker Not Applicable

Vehicle Status Unlicensed

Vehicle Colour RED

Vehicle Type Approval M1

Interesting - I wonder if it could be another prototype or the SE - a bit like the one Leeland has? A bit early for it maybe though

Another one here..sept this one really is a paint job.. strangely, to almost exactly the limited edition blue (but apparently it's prodrive impreza blue)

Re-Sprayed vRS

Thats had a full respray, expensive job that! But I do like it alot, makes me wish they did the vRS in more colours!

Looks like a nice job inside the shuts etc if it is a repaint . . .

I can't help but think that the seller is a bit aspirational on the pricing - £6500 is roughly 50% of the new price (incl. leather) at 5 years old. Especially since it's pretty much either got to be an import or a respray.

Am I the only one that thinks the colour is so wrong for a vRS?

It just looks wrong, doesn't it?

It's not wrong, it's different. I lived in Slovakia for almost a year and you could get the vRS in any colour there. The metallic green was especially nice. And they all had Xenons and much more equipment than was standard in the UK. They were quite pricey though iirc.

I reckon that one is an import from Malta or Gibraltar.

look that the pic showing the boot opend, note the rubber hose to the top left of the shut that houses cables etc, seems to have poss overspray id say?

Given that it's an OY plate it could have been a press car/QEK car. Probably a special order I reckon.

the shape of the seat base is different to the vRS seats in that met red one too or am i wrong

maybe an import?

Looks like Hot Chilli Red, used on the Octavia I pre face lift, Felicia and I have seen it on an early Fabia.

It's a full respray.. I emailed the seller and told him I didn't want to buy but was just genuinly interested as a fan of vRS's.. I got this reply.

Interesting! The V5 says Red with no change of colour listed. Paintcode in boot is 9910 if that means anything to you. The cars shows no signs whatsoever of having ever had any paintwork.

Let mo know if you discover anything, as it's always nice to be in full knowledge of the facts.

Nick.

Hi Rob

Thanks for the heads up on the Skoda. It was indeed once black, but no-one knows when it was changed. The V5 doesn't state that it had a colour change. It's not been reshelled as it is still black under the bonnet, but the paint job is the best I've ever seen. Anyway, it's been returned to where I bought it from. I don't need cars with history, so thanks for your interest.

Cheers

Nick

He sounds like a nice guy! ;) Bet the place/people he got it from aint to happy though.

It has the CD Changer seat base.

OY plate, unusual specification, my feeling is that it was an evaluation vehicle put together by Skoda UK.

Wasn't Leelands VRS originally black?

This could have been a contender colour for the VRS SE.

I really do like that colour.

If a green one turns up, I'm having it:thumbup:
