MDI again

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I've got a Skoda Octavia 2 - MY 2008 with MP3 Stream, i believe.

Can anyone confirm that if I buy from the local dealer the MDI and the Iphone cable i will be able to use my buttons from the steering to control the ipod ( skip track, etc ) as the volume is already controled.

At the moment i use it through AUX.

Will the cable also will "fuel" my Ipod battery too ?

Thank you!!

Hata

MDI only works on the RNS-510 and newer headunits. The stream is out in the dark I am afraid and you can only get basic functionality on that by using a dension icelink or simillar and losing the CD changer.

Thanks mannyo,

What is the code name for the STREAM ? RCD xXx ?

I found some guys saying that it would work on RCD310. :(

RCD310 is the new touchscreen unit which should work the MDI fine. The stream does not have an RCD number, its just Stream MP3.

RCD 310 is the Bolero ?

Thank you for the explainings :)

RNS510 = Columbus

RCD510 = Bolero

RCD310 = New Stream, the RCD310 does support MDI so im assuming the updated stream will

and yes, if you have MDI and a multifunction steering wheel, the two will work together and it will charge the battery

IIRC from the new skoda website, nearly all the specs apart from the classic come with the bolero anyway as standard

hope thats some help

Dan,

So 100% my old stream does not support MDI ... ?

Thanks for the code explained :)

correct, the old stream will not support mdi

But the MP3 stream will? Or there's a v3 stream? :confused:

no the mp3 stream wont, yes i believe there is a v3 stream similar to the RCD310 they are fitting in the new golfs which does support MDI,

all face lifted cars should be MDI compatible

Preface lift, not compatible unless you have columbus
