Service Indicator

Featured Replies

Can anyone explain the logic behind the service indicator? I last had my vRS serviced at the beginning of August last year at 9,614 miles. On Saturday my service indicator started showing that a service is due in 800 miles, despite my current mileage only being 18,100. I'm assuming that I can ignore it and just get the car serviced when it gets a bit closed to 20,000 miles?

Yes, I do think it has a mind off it's own.

The service indicator can be set by the dealer to what ever mileage or time he likes.

I'll assume 10,000miles or 12mths. but yours has decided that 10,000miles is coming up soon as you are slightly over a 10k. miles per year driver. Even more complicated is when the service indicator is set to Long Life when the special oil is used.

I would go go with 12mths. myself unless you are doing stellar mileage.
