desperate cd changer help needed

Hi people, haven't been on here in ages since I sold my Superb last year, I had an Octavia before that. My dad now has the Octavia and still going strong, however, the old cd changer went faulty due to the old back window wash pouring water all over it. Skoda delaer cut the connector off to try and exclude the plug but it didn't work as the changer was fried. Years later i have got a changer from ebay and am trying to wire it in but the colour coding of the loom (which now has no plug and is just bare wire) and the changer loom are different. I have wired it up based on a diagram from a google search but it only detects cd1 and doesn't actually play. Does anybody have any diagrams or info so I can get my 75 year old dad wired for sound!!
