Bluetooth Phone kit

Featured Replies

Which bluetooth kits do you recommend for Octy which is equipped with standard Skoda Stream radio + cd changer?

OEM Bluetooth kit, retrofitted, if you have Maxidot. Expensive, but an excellent level of integration.

Besides that, I'd look to something from Parrot. The MKi9000 or CK3200 would be on my shortlist, personally. Additionally, the MKi9000 seems excellent value for money, as it also allows iPod/USB drive control for music.

x2

I have had a parrot CK3200 fitted to both my old standard vRS and new Limited Edition vRS woth no problems whatsoever.

Only thing i'll add about Parrot kits is the huge amount of wires that need to be hidden behind the radio (both those with the kit and the required skoda radio interface plug to ISO) and the need to run a switched 12V line over form the fuse box to the kit to avoid the handsfree being on constantly.

I fitted the nokia CK-7W bluetooth kit to my Octy2, by removing the speaker I fitted the wires directly to the HU. The kit was the wire to cut into the radio when the phone rings. You will need the green block connecter and cable connectors for the speaker, which fit into the quadlock at the back of the HU. No drilling to fit any parts, so when I traded my 06 ambiente combi for an 08 Elegence combi early this year it was easy to swop them from car to car.

Look on Vrsstu's site for useful info Octavia-vrs.com

Highly recommed the OEM kit supplied by VRStu.

Nobody knows it is installed as everything is hidden, all operated via the maxidot display.

People don't realise I'm driving when I answer my phone. Sound quality is brilliant.

only downside is you can't transfer it to another car. I have tried several times with other kits never been 100% satisfied with moving another kit.

Bury CC9060. Great voice recognition that does not require voice tagging/recognition on your phone. Display can be set to green to match the car interior.

Just had one of these fitted..............it's fantastic. As the Honda advert says "isn't great when things just work"

Very discreet and idiot proof (and like you have changed the screen colour to green to match the interior)

Bury CC9060 vs Parrot CK3200

What do you think?

i have parrot 9100, and as steve says it allows the usb ipod control

Must order one! For the money it does make the CK3200 look overpriced.

I know the Bury systems do get a good review, but for features vs. outlay it's going to be the 9100 for me. Best price I can see is £120 for it at the moment.

I'm considering Bury CC9060 at £115 delivered.

Will I need any additional cables, plugs, wires, skoda to iso converters etc?

mine was £200 fitted, incl full speaker mute and chanelling thtough car speakers.

not sure what you need

Pete ordered some extra bits when fitting the 9100. Think they were all from the dealer so he should be able to tell you what you need.

Steve

I might have a OEM one going cheap very soon as i bought a MFD3 so will be upgrading it.

You have PM Micky :)

Hi, I'm thinking of getting one of the Parrot iPhone compatible kits. Is it possible to install the connecting cables into the storage compartment on top of the dash? I'm just thinking that it would be a good way to keep it invisible.

I'm pretty sure you can install cables in the top compartment if you find a way to put a cable there.

Today I've fitted Parrot MKi9100 to my Octy. I placed a connection cable in the glove compartment (right from the steering wheel).

I'm impressed with the call quality and amazing features - iPhone connection/charger, usb drive access etc.

The only trouble I had was hiding huge amount of wires and plugs behind the radio, but I managed to sort this out.

MKi9100 - amazing bt kit, highly recommended!

If you wanted to run the display into the top compartment that shouldn't be an issue, you could just neatly drill a hole to run the cable into one of the corners. I just wonder how actually using it would work though - would you have the compartment open every time you wanted to use the kit?

Norbury was talking about the connection cables and not display. The display can go somewhere on the dashboard and the connection leads for iPhone, USB key and other audio devices can be hidden somewhere else, in the top compartment for instance.

I hope that clears a bit.

Oh aye, hadn't thought of putting it there. Keeps it more for the driver I suppose. Cheers for the info, glad to know someone's done something similar. :)

Yes I was, I'm not sure whether to go for one of the ones with a screen or not, it would be neater without, though a screen is obviously handy.
