Another brake disc/pad question

Featured Replies

Im needing to renew front and rear discs and pads very soon for the octy vrs mk1

I have trailed through various posts etc and still in two minds.

Do I go for OEM discs front and rear with uprated front pads (ds2500 or equivalent) and standard pads at rear.

Where is the best supplier of OEM in regards to cost and price. TPS is local but then people also recommend GSF, europarts etc.

What prices should I expect to be paying.

Or do I go for uprated grooved discs ie the zero sixty discs/pads front currently on offer from awesome with standard discs and pads on rear.

Any suggestions appreciated:thumbup:

The pads will be what governs how aggressive the braking is - grooves etc. on the disc just help keep the pad surface clean for that 'just-bedded-in' feel. If you use uprated pads on normal discs for day-to-day driving, you may find the pads get squeaky pretty quickly as the surface gets mucky but isn't cleaned off properly. OTOH, if you really go for it on a regular basis, you may end up glazing the pads, which OEM discs won't help get rid of...

It all depends what you use your car for!
