Wobble in the driver seat???

Featured Replies

Hey all, just got my skoda back from the repair shop, working fine. but now it has a wobble in the seat.

when i accellerate, the seat tilts back, when i brake, it tilts forward!!!

i am sure its just a loose bolt somewhere, but idont know what i am looking for. its the whole seat not just the back, so it may be on the runners somewhere

anyone seen this before?

why was it being repaired ?

the seat retaining bolts are very easy to see , move the seat fully back , and you wll be able to see the front bolts, one at the front of each runner , and move the seat fully forward and you will be able to see the rear bolts , they are 12 point spline type bolts , so unless you have the special socket , you wont be able to tighten them, but you will be able to see if they are loose by lifting the seat

I went outside and had a look.

Its not the bolts that connect it to the rail. On the rear of the seat, there are small bits that connect the rail to the seat itself. Its these which are moving. And they dont seem to have bolts to tighten. They look like fixed pins if that makes any sense. Im thinking a new seat mount will be in order here!!

It went in cos my hand slipped and broke the cam shaft speed sensor.

They put a new one on me. It killed 2 birds with one stone tho cos the idling issue I once had, has now gone!! - wohoo.

my drivers seat is squeakin like a son of a bitch and no amount of WD40 will stop it! lol

I find mine wobbles if the only one of the sets of slider locking teeth has engaged. If I slide the seat forward and then back to where it was, release the lever and then push firmly against the footrest (while sitting in the seat ;) ), it's usually enough to get the sliders on both sides to click into place. OTOH, SWMBO's seat wobbles slightly (barely noticeable, though) all the time... :ne_nau:
