VW RNS510 question - advice needed

Featured Replies

Hi,

Will the VW RNS510 work in the octy2 or do you need to the get the proper Skoda one?

If the VW one does work in the car will it also work with the maxidot etc??

Thank you

My understanding is that the VW ones light a different colour (not Skoda green) but they should be fully compatible.

yes, it will work, but you get the VW startup screen, and if i remember correctly, it's got red lighting..I bought my skoda one from here..been great

Just ask them to source a skoda one..i knocked them down to £999 including fitting:thumbup:

New VW Golf / Passat / Eos / Tiguan / Scirocco MFD3 RNS 510 Navi

That seems quite expensive, given other comparable units that people have been buying?

I just bought a MFD3 for £689.

It is, but to be fair they are offering some kind of warranty.

If you buy the £600 - £700 unit from EBay you've really got nothing in the way of a warranty.

And you have to fit it and vag com it yourself :(

The UV worldwide price is quiet expensive. They are also available on ebay from them if you decide to go that route. I got a skoda one in september last year from ebay and have no problems with mine whatsoever, several on here have done the same and dont have problems either.

Thank you all for your help and advice guys.

I have an iron in the fire with a guy at the moment for a Skoda one - if it comes off I shall reveal all.

I just need to rob a granny so I can afford Maxidot and the OEM bluetooth kit to go with it!!

(just joking about the granny bit);)

I fitted mine yesterday and it's an awesome piece of kit, got it for £650.
