Good Price?

Featured Replies

Using my phone so can't easily search!

My dads been offered (from a Skoda Dealer) a Fabia vRS.

£8,000

It's been owned by a 78 yr old.

8,000 miles

56 Reg

Silver

Supposed to be immaculate (not seen it yet)

Thats all I know about it at the moment.

On his behalf, is this a good asking price?

Also, is someone could post a link in this thread to a buying guide (if there is one) then that would be great! Searching on this phone is hard! Its taken me 10 mins to write this!

Thanks

good mileage but seems quite a high price ?

I'd want a grand off that

Owned by a 78 year old... Jesus.

That car is pushing 3 years old and it's only done 8000 miles? I'd be VERY wary of taking on a car like that. There are lots of things that happen to cars when they are parked up and not used very often. Worst case, he's used it daily to drive 1 mile down the road to get his newspaper then driven it home again, in which case the turbo is likely to be ready to expire. Best case the seals on the brakes and suspension have gone dry and will collapse when you actually start to use them.

I would want to know exactly how this 78-year-old used it, how it was parked up etc. when you store a car, there are procedures to follow if you don't want to trash it.

And £8000 for a three-year-old car with no options on it that cost £11500 new? I know the vRS holds it's value well, but I reckon they're taking the mickey.

No it was not owned by Jesus! God

Hi ardandy

This is the parkers guide :

2006/56 Skoda Fabia vRS 1.9 TDI PD (130bhp) 5d Valuation - Parker's

hope you can read it on a phone, but I think that is a good price, but as others have said it always make me wonder why a 78 year old has a VRs and only does 8K, but I was offered a silver one a few weeks back with 1500miles on @£8.5K I saw it on the friday and when I phoned on the monday morning it had gone..

From what we're told the 78 year old hardly used it as he was ill.

He's now better and is blowing his kids inheritance on a new Fabia Sport.

We're waiting on the new car arriving before this one becomes available.

Whats worth checking (or getting them to check) before buying considering its mileage?

From looking on AutoTrader (back on PC now!) at whats available at the mo I'd say the price is pretty good.

Considering its from a main dealer I cant find another 56 Reg (assuming its sep 2006) for less than £8000 within 100 miles.

blowing his kids inheritance on a new Fabia Sport

thats seems ok to me as i am looking around too

8000 miles

Id buy it but Id be asking for some money off !

Like said above there may be the possibility of it having a few problems with it being barely used but then again it could be absolutly fine for years to come.

If it was me buying it I would ask for the dealer to give it a good check over just for some piece of mind :D

There is a black vrs on ebay now that has quite a few optional extras, xenons, sunroof, parking sensors, cruise etc etc for about 5.5k I think !!!
