lubricant for claying windows

Featured Replies

What type of lubricant would you suggest for claying windows?

I've just used Megs Last Touch or Quik Detailer as I would on the rest of the car when I've done mine in the past.

I've started to use a weak solution of car shampoo and water in a quick detailing bottle, did the whole of a Mk4 Ibiza with this. Just be careful how strong you make it though, as a Meguairs clay bar will start breaking up if you go too strong on the mix. Meguiars Ultimate quick detailer is around £12 a bottle.

Or you can get hold of Dodo Born Slippery in concetrate form for around £10 and make around 2.5 litres of solution, although its ideal if you have a old sprayer bottle to use to mist it on.

Bilbt Hamber also do a clay thats made for use with water as a lubricant, without causing marring.

Thanks folks..i've just lost my virginity to claying..i don't know what i was worried about..i used megs quik on the paint and glass...it;s now sooooo smooth. Polish and wax next up :D

Whooohooo! Im learning lol!

My next order is going to be Dodo Juice Born Slippery, with some mild and slightly more aggressive clay.

The Meguairs Quick Clay couldn't hack it today on my mates Astra Coupe.

Dodo born slippy is great, i have a bottle of the concentrate that makes 2.5 lites mixed 10:1, its very good stuff. i dont get on with last touch, also sonus glyde is good.

Cool, will bear that in mind for my next order.
