Talk about a waste of petrol!

Featured Replies

I moved my car further down to my house today as I couldn't find a space nearer this afternoon. As I park up I go to put my windows up but neither of the buttons worked! I was there for about 10 minutes turning the engine on then off, trying different ways to put the windows up but they wouldn't move. I concluded that they were broken and thought I couldn't leave my car there with both windows open, so I drove to my dads work as that's where he was (because dads always know what to do in emergencies? :S lol). As I arrived I thought I may as well give them another go and they worked! I was so annoyed lol. But anyway, they still seem to "judder" a bit when I put them up/down, anyone know if this is a common problem? Or an easy fix? My car's an '05 Fabia Sport and the electric window buttons are located underneath the radio unit in the centre console and looks as though its been assembled there by 3 year olds. Dunno if that's relevent information or not lol. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :)

Yeah the Sport electric windows were retro fitted at the dealer pre delivery, fecking awful kit.

Yeah tell me about it, and also the lights behind the buttons are constantly on if the engines on and get unbelievably hot after long journeys, which means I've been scalded on numerous occasions :P

Any chance of a picture of the switches and their location? Never seen a Fabia with the buttons there.. can't imagine it. :)

You mean the location/look of the window buttons?

Yeah, I think the ewww was for the pix,..

Thanks for posting the pix, They look ok, but I wonder why they didn't just use the OEM Fabia buttons on the door handle.. surley they had to open the door up to install the motors and cables? Seems silly to then use this after market looking kit for the buttons.

Wonder if the OEM door buttons can be retro fitted onto this kit? I know you can buy the buttons and trim off the shelf, I've bought em!

Then you could get an elegance drawer in there ;)
