Stage 2 Re-map

Featured Replies

Just after some opinions, im considering getting a stage 2 re-map, do any of you have these on? Im told it will be less smooth to drive, but will it make it quicker? and add many BHP? Im getting a FMIC fitted soon (i ordered it lat night) and iv got a Blue flame cat back, green otton filter and forge DV. Dont want to make it awful to drive but do want to make it quicker :) lol

Might be an idea to get the brakes and suspension uprated in advance to handle all this anticipated power.

Whats the difference between this companies "stage 1" remap and "stage 2" remap?

Is stage 1 just a generic remap and stage 2 a custom one?

by the sounds of this increase you may need 8 pot calipers on the front to stop the roaring bull:eek:

im sure you should be good for 300 bhp if running the massive k03s turbo

For stage 2 tuning i would advise you get a downpipe and sports cat also. This will allow the turbo to work more smoothly and reach the required boost easier and quicker. Apart from that, as already said. Nice set of brake pads and a rear ARB to help keep it level in the corners :)

I hope this helps

Yes a downpipe and sports cat are a must i think for a stage 2,thats what everyone seemed to tell me when i was enquiring about stage 2 remap, which is why i've got one on order ;)

also get a TIP.

look ant my MOT thread for a link to one cheap lol.

or go for a Forge / Autobahn 88 / Samco one. I would say get one as they are much parger and let so much more air thru.

Cheers for the advice, Ill shop around for some new brakes and get the suspension sorted, think it will be a little while before the stage two map as brakes and sus wont be cheap, my only concern with the new down pipe is increased noise? I like the burble I get at the mo but dont want to be really loud...although I have heard they make a noticable power increase

On another note I went down to a place near me called MORE BHP, I had the generic map done there and theres a rolling road if you want to use it, I had heard a few things on this forum about people having lumpy and flat remaps and i got talking to him, Mine has always been strong had no problems with the car, but he loaded another map which felt how ppl were describing there maps...it was a german map and i cant remember the name of it but it showed me how important it is to get a good map on.....oh and he only chrged £175 for the generic..... and boy does it pull... sorry that went off the plot slightly..will also order a TIP...are they hard to fit? can you get to it easilt on top of the engine? i have never really looked at the turbo if im honest, just keep looking at the gaping hole where the intercooler will sit

Matt will give you a taster of stage 2 when i see you.

wayhey, whoop.... looking forward to that...is your downpipe too noisy? or did u get the whole system done at once?

but he loaded another map which felt how ppl were describing there maps...it was a german map and i cant remember the name of it but it showed me how important it is to get a good map

Was it Diga-tec?

Think it might of been.... i tried 3 maps actually...and found the one i already had was the best :) which made me happy and gave me time to talk bout what the maps actually did and how tey differ.

Fitted the full system together as it's the downpipe that makes the big difference.;)

Did you get it from blueflame? there are some for £99, is it worth getting one? I guess if i leave the cat in it wont be too noisy...and ill get a performance gain?

Milltek 2.5" downpipe/sports cat and resonated cat back system.

Don't go for some cheap one off ebay.

I would go for the APR 2.5" Downpipe and sports cat and the milltek cat back system.

I found that the main restriction in the zorst is the cat, I still on the std DP with a 200cell cat on and a 2.5" cat back which has made a big diff. and the sound is really nice. noisy when you go for it but nice and quiet on a cruise, and nice rumble on tick over and low revs.

I am gonna get a 2.75" DP some time when I get a job and I hope it makes the sound a bit deeper lol

then hope to get the map tweeked for a few extra HP and lb ft

yea i have read about the issues with mot's with them, might give pipewerx a ring in the morn and see what they have to say...no-ones mentioned the noise yet, how much louder will it be than my cat back? lol

Thanks Billy

not much id say

pos a tad more but nothin too bad. mine is quite quiate really. thats y I want the DP to see if it gives it more body. do you no the sound of the STi scooby? i think its about 1/3rd the loudness of that. lol

a 200 cell cat will get you thru MOT no trouble at all, think the 100cell will too but its a border line and think you need to have a good spirited drive to get it red hot before hand lol. a 200cel is a really good one IMHO. Does make a vast diff in the speed the gasses get out.

think most ppll wi the BF complained bout the tail not sittin right and BF only guarentee it when its fitted with the complete system Turbo back lol. thats y I went custom so I gon it all lined up properly and there is nothing hanging or showing ie the back box. mine is tucked right up and out the way. and there is no touching or vibrating ne more after a few tweeks lol. was ammazed ho much it grew when hot lol

billy

Get the Blueflame cat to match your system, they now come with a 200cel cats which replaces the 100cel and now sail through the MOT. I've got the 100cel cat on mine. Even with this full cat and system it's not too loud, it won't be much louder than your current setup.

Agreed, the downpipe and sports cat makes a big difference. It will change the sound of the exhaust but not to a level that you wont like. The Turbo takes most of the exhaust noise out :)

Really. Dam thats cheap. Mine is £402.50. Doh :(

Think i best look at trimming my prices. Its a better product but at £150.00 extra im gonna struggle to sell it, lol
