Featured Replies

just found this on Modified steering rack...

dont think it will speed the rack up but it might be nice to dial in more resistance in the steering wheel though

Like Matt says you can change the resistant settings for the power steering.

Where abouts in VCDS is this setting??

Try this:

[select]

[44 - Steering Assist] (from Chassis tab)

[Recode - 07]

Take note of the value which is in the form 0001x1 where x is the weight setting, eg 000121

If x is set to 1, it will be very light, if it is set to 5 it will be heavy

Replace the number with the required weight, eg 000151

Not checked for certain but I think the GTI/vRS will be 5 anyway.

guy on there reckons its set onto 2, but im not sure

Next time I'm plugged in I will check.

Speaking personally though I think the steering weight is spot on for both GTI and vRS.

im 90 percent happy with the weight, maybe a slight bit heavier, not to o much though. I would like a faster steering rack though

Mine doesn't actually adjust for some reason even though the rack used to pre a warranty chnge of part.

thats strange then??

Apparantly not, the newer controllers are non adjustable I was told by people on here.
