Front Bumper Lip

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

Not that it matters too much, but is this just a cheaper version of the LCR lip? I've seen a few of you on here have something similar, i'm just wondering whether to order this one or go to my local Seat garage and get one from a LCR . Oh and are they easy enough to fit??

Thoughts anyone??

The Flea-Bay one is an overpriced Seat Cupra R one, he has added nearly £20 to the price of the same thing you can buy at the Seat dealers.

Yes they are easy to fit, I had one on my old Octy vRS.

IIRC the genuine Seat item is only £25

Bloody hell can you come round and cut my lawn

Wicked. Did you forget to put axel stands under your car when changing wheels, lol :)

Thats the ultimate ride on lawn mower.

Mine is a bit of a sneaky shot, the car is actually on a slopped drive ;) Its not actually anywhere near that low. Still only lasted 2 weeks. Came off at Brands Hatch :(

Kind Regards

Are they really fragile then these things?? :( I'm picking one up from my local SEAT dealer today... only £25 !! compared to that mug on eBay selling one for £50. Wierd thing happened though when I sopke to the dealer....I mentioned that it was for a Skoda, and he kinda went all wierd over the phone... telling me that it was illegal for them to sell SEAT products for a Skoda car as they're not licensed to do so. Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous??? :P

p.s. is this an easy mod to fit?? i've seen a few people have trouble fitting one to a mkIV Golf because of the shape of the lip...

Dave

To be fair they are quite strong, i just caught mine on a lump on a rutted track and it broke one of the clips so it sagged in the middle. I took it off with all intentions of getting another fitted but as yet have not got round to it :)

Yes it is a really easy job. I would advise taking the bumper off to do this tho, made it alot easier that if it had left it on.

Nice weather this weekend for a bit of car tinkering i feel.

Kind Regards

Garry

If I fitted one it wouldn't last a week lol.

I maygo into business on ebay, I mean if their stupid enough too pay, then I'm stupid enough too sell lol

We could start selling boxes of that stuff we all reviewed in a recent thread. lol

I get my throttle body gaskets from the local SEAT dealer and bought a vented TT wheelarch from the local Audi dealer. I did mention they were for a Skoda and got some funny looks but no hassle... I'm surprised they made a fuss about it! What you do with the parts you buy is up to you!

Just don't mention what make it's for. I have had "oh no that won't fit" before now and "we can't sell you that". Just give them the number and remain silent.

As soon as I asked for an LCR splitter my local SEAT dealer knew the part number without having to look it up!!

I think he's sold one or two before!

Yeh i have to say i rely on local garages and dealerships for parts/servicing etc due to my woeful lack of mechanical knowledge. I just get so ****ed off with the attitude these guys have!

I've got a fun filled weekend taking my bumper off and fitting this splitter. (probably going to end up ducktaping)

Also, on another note, i managed to pick up a temp sensor at the same time, does anyone know if i have to run VAG-COM after installing the new sensor? or can I just drive and it will sort itself out?

yeah a few of my local dealerships have got a bit funny so i just dont tell them what its for any more. they see what i drove in there in and i just say its for my brothers car and ive collected it in mine. how do they know the difference.

sort of be-friended the local seat parts dealer and he stocks a few of the splitters all the time. he told me that he doesnt care who or what car they are for as he gets the sale. he has known of them being put on a CORSA for god sake!!!!

they are strong enough just make sure you put quite a few pop rivets in. it should take a bit more of a hammering to pull it off.
