Time for ICE?

Featured Replies

Now then, when I bought my Octy in January I decided that the time had come to stop tinkering, standard was good enough. As time passed however I couldn't resist swapping the H/U for the Becker from by old car. Now I've moved on to thinking about decent components.

Now I'm familiar with installing speakers, multichangers, amplifiers and subs so know all about the joy of routing cables through bulkheads and behind trim but really can't be bothered to go through it all again (I'm getting old!). I'm considering buying some Focal Access 165s but the question is should I do it myself or pay a professional. I've been quoted

hehe Dave, I think we all started by saying no mods and now look what I have done.

Disconnecting the rear tweeters is a doodle, and depending on the speaker depth and if they have a separate crossover you could fit the front ones without removing the door cards.

When I had a similar set up installed in my old Octy, I paid about

Tell me about it, why can't I just be happy and leave things alone, I always must tinker! The Focals do have a separate crossover which need to go in the door so the door cards must come off. :( How do you disconnect the rear tweeters?

OK, cheers fellas, that doesn't sound too difficult. I take it the rear speaker covers just pop of like the door pull cover?

Thanks for the install offer Joel but I seem to remember from a previous post you're Peterbrough based. That's quite a trek for me and would definately involve the use of a whole day one weekend - i'm trying to avoid that. :)

You can see the underside of the rear speakers under the parcel shelf supports in the boot. Just disconnect the rear tweeters from there.
