Bought a Humax 9300T and slowly getting to grips with it but not without a few problems

First of all there's the need to have it switched on to use my TV like before but I'm looking into that.

The major one at the moment is the automatic timing of recordings via the EPG. It is frequently missing the start or end of programmes on Channel 4. I record the morning comedies for my wife so she can watch them later. Everybody loves Raymond usually misses the start, occasionally Frasier too and last night, Who's Running Sainsburys had 2 mins chopped off the end. Is this common to other users?

I'm loathe to use the start/end recording adjustments as it loses the series link function.

Not had a humax but is there an option in the menus to add time to add a specified time to start recording before and after programmes, eg. start 5min before, finish 5 min after for all recordings?

There is but as I said below it messes with the series link option to record all shows of that name.

Channel 4 is a PITA for over running programmes, Grand designs is usually missing the last minute or two when i record it on my Humax 8000t

as has been said there will be an option in the menu to extend the recording , but really the signal that is sent to start and end the recording should sort any problems out with early/late starts

the Humax Freesat PVR is very good in this respect

Still doing this. On C4's own factual/reality content is not too bad as the start is usually a synopsis of the show but missing the start of comedy/drama stuff is a bit more of a problem. Only missed the end of something recently when I had some clashing issues, the EPG was not quite as intelligent as the blurb indicated or I had hoped.

Still not resolved the aerial signal issue and it annoys the wife when the screen goes black for a split-second when it start recordings (plus the on screen message) but otherwise the Humax has been a useful addition. Also for some reason it likes to crash on a Saturday morning

I own one..

I stopped using the series link option when I figured out that it was causing recordings to fail or miss times etc.

Although the kit is very good the customer service from Humax is poor (they never reply to emails)

I went through all of xmas with all the BBC channels breaking up. Couldn't find anything that worked on the forums (and Humax wouldn't reply). Assumed my signal required an attenuator.. Unplugged the aerial feed to fit and it sorted the problem (just unplugging the RF input feed!!!):o
