Rattle & role

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Has anybody had brake rattle on their VRS?

I took it to my main dealer sometime ago about a rattle from NSF they diagnosed it as brake rattle, now I replaced the the disks & pads myself a few months before that, I have checked the anti rattle springs are fitted correctly which they are, anyway on further investigation I found the the centre exhaust mount had completely come away so I have just simply removed it, thought YAY I have fixed the rattle but alas I still have this rattle from NSF.

So does the glue go off from the stick pad or can the clip that sits in the piston come away from the back of the pad?

Many thanks

Alex

hi alex,it may be your lower radiator mounts that are rattling,i had this on mine & i put some foam padding between the bottom of the rad & cross member & this cured it,does your radiator move a good inch or so at the bottom if you try to move it? cheers mike.

Hi Mikey,

It does move at the bottom about an inch so I am going to try what you suggest, any tips?

hi alex, all i did was put some roll cage padding that i had spare from a rallycar id been building inbetween the bottom of the rad & the cross member that sits directly underneath it,this strops the rad moving about,to fix it properly you need to replace the rad mounts,i still need to do mine but there is always somthing else to do 1st! currently replacing both my front wheel bearings & doing a gearbox oil change!
