Bolero Headunit....

Featured Replies

Afternoon All,

I have just replaced my Bolero 6 cd changer in my LE to a nice shiny Columbus unit, therfore i now have a Bolero unit rattling around collecting dust, surplus to requirements.

I am going to put the unit on Ebay but have no idea how much it is worth? Does anyone know how much a new one of these is likely to cost me if i was to go out and buy a new one?

Very true, i now have someone interested in buying the unit for £200 now but have no code for it.

I have spoken to Skoda Uk and my dealer, and they have both said that it needs to be installed in whoevers car it ends up in, and taken to a dealer, plugged into the computer which then contacts Skoda for a code.

This is alot of farting about for a new owner, and more than likley added expense!

Also surely if the stereo is "logged" as belonging to me and my car, it being installed into another car would flag up as potentially being stolen, therefore not giving the new user a code?

Does anyone know of a way around this? Doing my head in, just want rid of the thing!

Thanks in advance

being an OEM unit i doubt there is a way round it unless you do something iffy with the wiring?

Could you write a letter to the buying say that your where the owner of car that radio came out of so that buy could go to the dealer with letter etc saying a lawful sale and all.

Or do the old nicked radio trick of 'bag and 20m in freezer' to forget the code.

James.
