Coolant temp sensor location?

Featured Replies

EML is coming on, code reader says P0118 Engine Coolant Temp.Circ High Input.

Had a quick search and can only find pictures of it on a 1.4MPi, and not on a vRS. So, where is it hiding?

anyone?

It's down on the right-hand side of the engine block (as you face it from the front of the car), under the silver fuel pump. It's facing towards the rear of the car, and helpfully, the clip holding it in place slides out downwards IIRC. I did put a picture up which seems to have disappeared, but because of the location, it didn't really make things any clearer anyway!!!

I found the easiest thing was to get the new sensor ready with the O-ring attached, remove the clip holding the old sensor in place, and then pull out the old sensor and O-ring then stuff in the new ones as quickly as possible. I didn't spill much coolant, although you should probably wear rubber gloves and put a drip-tray down. If your car's on the flat, then the drips will probably fall somewhere around the NSR corner of the undertray...

HTH :)
