PD100 tuning questions

Featured Replies

Hello

I've searched around and found most of the information I need on this site.

I actually have a PD100 polo.

I've been looking at tuning the PD100 on a budget, I have decided to do the following after searching on here

Change intake for PD160 item

Cat replacement pipe (home made)

And upgrade the turbo and injectors to a secondhand set off a fabia VRS

Then a custom remap.

The only question I have, after researching the turbo's I have found both the PD100 and the VRS use a BV39 turbo.

Are there different versions of this turbo?

Why will the 100pd only go to around 145bhp on it's standard turbo, but more with the VRS?

Thanks for any info

Does anybody know if there are different versions of the BV39 turbo. Or could confirm the turbo's that's fitted to the 100pd and the 130pd VRS

Thanks

the PD130 has a bigger turbo and bigger injectors I beleive, which is why you get more power.....

145bhp sounds about right for a remapped PD100 with standard mechanicals

Vrs uses a different BV39. If you can get a 1749VB garret.

That's great info thanks

Do you know if the 1749VB is a direct fit?

Thanks

Would a VRS Forge FMIC fit a polo PD 100? Just a thought & scruffydubber You have PM!

BUMP on the fitment of the turbo!

i think it does, but a search will let you know for sure. I know someone who has mapped his pd100 to 160bhp with no issues as yet
